about us
Each pair of Bertier customs begins from an authentic ‘donor’ pair of cult classic sneakers, completely deconstructed, reimagined, recut, reassembled and remodelled by a master shoemaker.
With more than 60 hours of finely detailed craftsmanship devoted to each bespoke pair, the careful preparation of the world’s finest materials is as imperative as the precision stitching and hand finishing of the individual elements.
Vibrantly hued tones enrich the distinctive characteristics of Nile crocodile skins sourced from South African tanneries, and complement the highest grade calf lining leathers imported from Italy and Spain.
Every piece is personally hand-cut, skived, edge stained, assembled, stitched and hammered together using the time-honoured techniques of ‘les gestes’ - the perfected movements of experienced ‘bottiers’ honed over years for exacting quality - creating exclusively customised shoes designed for distinctive individuals.
